PARIS PHOTO ANNOUNCES 149 GALLERIES AND 31 PUBLISHERS FOR 2017
9 TO 12 NOVEMBER 2017, GRAND PALAIS 

Paris, 29 June 2017 – Paris Photo, the leading international fair dedicated to photography, will be held from 9 to 12 November 2017, at the Grand Palais. With 180 exhibitors, including galleries, publishers and art book dealers, making up the main sector, the 2017 edition will be characterized by an ambitious and original programme, presenting the best of the photographic medium in all of its diversity.

For its 21st edition, Paris Photo will host 149 galleries and 31 publishers from 31 countries across the world, with 31 new galleries and five specialist photography publishers exhibiting for the first time. 

For the third consecutive year, the PRISMES sector will bring together 14 exceptional projects by leading galleries in the monumental Salon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais. 

Alongside this, Paris Photo will launch a new FILM/VIDEO section, exploring new perspectives in image-based art, in association with leading cinema, MK2 (Grand Palais).
 
As guest of Honor for this 21st edition, Karl Lagerfeld will create a journey of his personal favourites in the fair among thousands of artworks on view entitled “Paris Photo by Karl Lagerfeld”. His selection will be published in a special edition book.

MAIN SECTOR

This year, Paris Photo has selected 149 leading international galleries from 29 countries including Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Switzerland and Taiwan.

Among the Solo Shows presented by the main sector galleries, visitors will discover photographers including Vanessa Beecroft, Ilse Bing, 
Marcelo Brodsky, Paul Graham, Rinko Kawauchi, Dana Lixenberg, 
Edgar Martins, Susan Meiselas, Boris Mikhailov, Arnold Odermatt, 
Shigeru Onishi, Sigmar Polke, Denis Rouvre, Lise Sarfati, 
Karl Hugo Schmölz, Ed van der Elsken, Tom Wood, Masao Yamamoto and 
Tobias Zielony…

PRISMES SECTOR

The Salon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais will host the PRISMES sector. This sector is dedicated to serial artworks, large formats, and installation and performance projects that open up new fields of exploration of images across all forms. This year, PRISMES will present 14 original creations including series by Henry Chalfant, Jungjin Lee and Tim Rautert, a performance by Peter Miller, special projects by Gilles Caron and Karlheinz Weinberger, and installations by Greg Crawford, Aurélie Petrel and Juergen Teller among others.

FILM/VIDEO SECTOR

Paris Photo will launch a new FILM/VIDEO programme in partnership with leading cinema, MK2 (Grand Palais), with three daily screenings; one of which features artists’ films by Paris Photo participating galleries.

The complete list of PRISMES sector participants and the FILM/VIDEO and official programmes will be released in July.
